Aspects of user experience design

Select this link to explore some key aspects of user experience that should be considered during system design. Each of these impacts how people feel when they interact with a system.

Activity 4.1

Challenges of user experience design

For this activity, you need to:

  1. Refer back to the Smashing Magazine on What is User Experience Design? article you looked at earlier in this topic.
  2. Record in your course GitBook in your own words at least 4 challenges you see for incorporating experience design when building a system.

Activity 4.1

A closer look at usability

This is a group activity.
As you have learnt, usability is one important aspect of user experience design. In your groups:

  1. Research and discuss how usability and user experience differ from one another.
  2. Decide on the things to be considered when assessing the usability of a system?
  3. Find at least one example of a system (e.g. website, mobile app, etc.) that demostrates good usability and one with poor usability. Take screenshots to aid in explaining your reasoning for coming to these conclusions.
  4. Prepare to present your findings, as a group, in class.

Activity 4.3
